The SAV Collection – Floor of Ocean

A Journey of Multisensorial Experience

Hong Kong Arts Festival enriches the cultural life of Hong Kong every March each year. At Hotel sáv, you will also experience the atmospheric world of ocean into an art form. “The SAV Collection – Floor of Ocean” was launched in March 2016. Featuring artworks by Frankie Cihi, a half Japanese half American artist, viewers and guests can explore the extraordinary deep blue ocean with different senses, by immersing in Frankie’s fascinating murals on the walls of the 25^th floor’s corridors and rooms.

Amazed by the combination of high rises and mountains right after she stepped out of Hong Kong International Airport, Frankie’s painting transforms the 25th floor corridor of Hotel sáv into an oceanic world with Hong Kong landscape. Using her oceanic blue as the base color and other milky colors, it depicts the contrast between nature and humans by outlining the silhouette of mountains and skyscrapers. Since time is short in this improvised art project, new ideas pops up in Frankie’s mind every day as she races against time. Curiously, this fulfils her philosophy in pursuit of perfection through imperfection, which she phrases it as “Organic Symmetry”.
