KO SHAN THEATRE

A dedicated venue for Cantonese opera for both established and budding Cantonese opera artists and troupes for performances, training, rehearsals and research, Ko Shan Theatre first opened its doors in 1983 and is located in Ko Shan Road Park – perfect for a midday stroll.

CATTLE DEPOT ARTIST VILLAGE

This century-old slaughterhouse has reincarnated into an artists’ village, complete with red brick buildings and exhibition halls. There are regular exhibitions as well as concerts and theatrical performances. The village itself is interesting to visit even when there’s no event on.

KWUN YUM TEMPLE

Built in 1873, Hunghom Kwun Yum Temple is one of the most significant local landmarks. During road works between Hunghom and Kowloon City in 1909, the workers were scared by red water spouting from the ground at a digging site. They believed their work harmed a sacred dragon.

To continue construction of the road, the workers donated money to the Hunghom Kwun Yum Temple, in the hope that Kwun Yum (Goddess of Mercy) would help them avoid any other disasters. This is but one of the many legends surrounding the temple, which is linked to many local miracles.

It’s also a very popular local belief that Kwun Yum Temple is a hot spot for worshipping and ‘borrowing’ money from the higher power.

HONG KONG COLISEUM

Since its opening in 1983, the Hong Kong Coliseum has established itself as one of the most popular multipurpose indoor stadiums in Hong Kong and is used for international sports events, spectacular entertainment programs, pop concerts and conventions.

Shaped like an inverted pyramid, the Coliseum is one of the most eye-catching landmarks on the waterfront of Hong Kong, providing an unobstructed view of the arena for over 12,500 people.
